What we do
From national grants to a range of expert services MSRRF has spent over six decades supporting people with MS.
Supporting people with MS
MSRRF is committed to supporting people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and their primary carers. We provide support services and resources to help people manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
Raising Awareness
MS is a complex and often misunderstood condition. MSRRF is dedicated to raising awareness through research about the challenges faced by those affected by MS.
Building a Community
MSRRF provides opportunities for people to connect and share their experiences whilst our expert staff can sign post to like-minded charities and resources that support people living with MS.
Our Services
Whilst we can’t cure MS, we work hard to provide ways to help our service users and to limit the impact the condition has on their lives.
Sports and Fitness
Staying active is crucial for individuals with MS. Our fitness and exercise programs are designed to promote physical fitness, improve balance, enhance muscle strength and gain confidence. Programs can also improve overall mental wellbeing. We offer a variety of exercise options, ensuring that everyone can find a program that suits their needs and abilities. Discover how our fitness and exercise initiatives can contribute to your overall health.
Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapy services are tailored to meet the specific needs of individuals with MS. Our skilled team will work with you to improve mobility, manage symptoms, and enhance overall well-being using tailored exercise and physical activity plans. South Side house is one of only a handful of places in the UK to have an AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill which is a game changer for some of our service users.
Complementary Therapies
At MSRRF, we believe in holistic well-being. Our complementary therapies are designed to complement traditional medical treatments for MS. These therapies, which include options such as massage and reflexology, relaxation classes, stress reduction, and symptom management. All are tailored to your needs.
Group Visits
MSRRF can provide services to small groups of users, who may not be able to attend due to transport costs, locations or have no means of transport. As a group they can benefit from an exercise and complementary therapy session, in a social environment, over a morning or afternoon. We can also provide tea, coffee and cakes. MS active are an established group from Easington, County Durham who visit us and really benefit from our services.
